The post about Prof. Property wasn’t an attack against her.
Great law professors aren’t born, they are created. First they have to go to school, get top grades, and then turn down high paying jobs to teach. Once they decide to teach, they must then develop their own pedagogies. Generally their styles will be a compilation of their personalities, and the styles they’ve experienced in the past.
Prof. Property is no different. She is a good person, and a good professor. One day she will probably be a great professor. She has goals for the students and does things in the classroom with those goals in mind. I’m not a psychic, but I’m guessing the goal was to encourage people to be more prepared, by way of peer pressure. The theory being the prepared students would be mad at the unprepared students, and pressure the unprepared students into doing work.
It didn’t go as planned.
Nobody was upset with the unprepared students, and most saw it as a good opportunity to leave school early on a Friday. The few people who were upset, directed their anger towards the professor. Having said that, I doubt there will be anyone without printed briefs in the next class.
As for “Coyote Ugly”, I’ll simply say they remind me of this guy I met in the Shogun parking lot. Firstly, if you don’t like what the professors are doing, you can tell them. Odds are they’ll listen. And a Match.com profile? Why is that embarrassing? It seems all of your problems stem from the fact you forget professors are real people.
Do yourself the favor and drop out.

Good post. I hope that idiot "coyote" guy doesn't hurt the reputation of your class.
Coyote Ugly needs to be around until the admin figures out that people aren't so happy around here.
Who the hell is the "coyote"? Does he/she have a blog?
Kiss Ass!
3:24 "Coyote Ugly" is an awkward individual claiming to represent a group. Very strangely, the person placed a comment about my last post in the comment section of every Baylor blog but my own.
2:45: Do you also think a case of Chlamydia will improve your sex life? Your group has no place at this school. If you want to hurt the school’s reputation so badly, you and your group can go out of your ways to fail the Bar. That will certainly take down the 98% bar passage rate.
RE: Coyote Ugly
If you can't beat 'em, or join 'em,... make fun of them.

Okay--- after some extensive investigative work, I finally uncovered the original coyote post. (being as I wasn't quick enough to view it in all its "glory" earlier.) And thus, my reaction directed to Coyote:
Firstly, if you are truly claiming to be a hard worker, and have labored for hours, you would not have enough spare time to come up with this crap. I don't know what school you are going to, but I can't remember the last time I found enough spare time to form a small terrorist fleet.
Secondly, if you hate it so much.... here's a novel idea: LEAVE. Turns out, there are thousands of law schools out there. Yes, Waco sucks, yes, Law school is hard. GUESS WHAT---- what you have experienced is NOTHING. I highly doubt you’ve ever had to confront anything truly difficult in your life if you view the steps you're taking as an effective means of dealing with your "Baylor problems". I suggest you redirect those efforts to a more worthwhile cause, and one less self-serving at that. I doubt this move will gain you the reverence you seek, let alone respect in the professional world.
I will agree that the amount of homework is incredibly strenuous, and what the professors demand of us is nothing less then perfection. This is not a strike at you individually. I personally look at this as a compliment. They expect so much because they KNOW that you can do it. I'm not saying I put into this nearly as much as I should. On the contrary, many of us merely fit in enough to get by most days. But that doesn't devalue the institution. The professors are simply doing their jobs. You need to realize that this isn't a personal attack. It's a way for you to learn. Obviously, it has been completely ineffective thus far, if you are spending your time forming a little "hate club.” A personal vendetta at this level is a waste of your time and of the professors’. I am willing to bet that if you directed nearly as much effort at your finals, you would not be on the lower end of the spectrum which I am more than willing to bet that you will be.
Thirdly, I realize that the means of scaring people into working can seem a bit outlandish. But consider this: think back to your classes in the last quarter. I do not doubt that you worked, but when and for whom did you work the hardest? A certain CivPro professor (who shall go unnamed haha) continually scared the crap out of all of us. He humiliated people, he taunted, and he forced you to memorize ridiculous and seemingly miniscule things. AND HE WAS EFFECTIVE. I have never worked as hard in my life as I did for him, and I doubt that any of you did either. He demanded performance, and he received. Whether the embarrassment and harassment were the most prudent of choices is left to be determined, but no one can deny that he got results. You have to realize, that at this level, we are all smart. We all know the little tricks of how to get out of things, and we all know what we think we are capable of. Here's the thing: WE DONT KNOW CRAP. The vast majority of us are under 25, and have had most everything handed to us in life. Nothing will be that way again when we graduate. Our professors have lived a life that we are, as of yet, unaware of. Instead of complaining, and downgrading them, you should realize what you are being handed. They are teaching you and preparing you for things that you will not again have the chance to “practice” for. So someone walked out on you… you had a choice. You could have gone and worked harder for the next class, you could have taken the opportunity to catch up on other things… or you could whine and point fingers. Your choice is clear. Which, in all honesty, is fine by me. While you waste time and efforts on such a meaningless Endeavour, the rest of us are passing you by.
However, I would feel better knowing I surpassed you on a more even keel. Therefore, I offer you this little piece of advice: our professors are attempting to prepare you for what you are likely to encounter. Each little remark, each twist they pull out DOES have some value. Learn to recognize it. Most things that our professors do are calculated and are meant to evoke a certain response, which generally, they unfailingly do. Anyone with a basic understanding of psychology should be able to recognize that fear generates action... and embarrassment will encourage you to redeem yourself. Granted, it's not the most pleasant means to an end, but that's LIFE.
I hope you realize the grave mistake that you are making. You are disregarding an amazing opportunity for personal glory. You are throwing away a chance to better yourself, and you are attempting to drag down other with you. I am personally offended that you are being labeled something that is generally revered… something that I am more proud to be than you will ever know: a law student.
Finally, I wish to address your attack on the profession of being a teacher of the law. Being a professor is not a sign of weakness. Teaching is one of the most difficult and unappreciated positions in the world. You would not be who and what you are today without teachers. The fact that you direct your efforts at them shows our complete ignorance. The fact that the professors are willing to sit with you… to help you understand complex subjects, and to bring you into a world that they hold dear should mean something to you. Since it does not, I can only say that I pity you. I can’t say that I agree with every method that is employed here, or with everything I am taught. But I have not met one teacher here who didn’t make an effort. They are here because they want to be here, and because they believe in something. So before you launch your attacks on them, remember something. If you are attempting to invoke change, this is not the means. Public embarrassment and revenge will bring about nothing but unnecessary pain. You are hurting all of us, and especially yourselves.
I do not completely disagree with all that you say. Baylor does not portray an accurate example of what life will be like in law school. However, I don't think anyone can really know what it will be like here unless they experience it. I think the prospective students should sit in a class like civpro... and I don't think the rules should change when they are in the room (ie, if someone is late, they should still be kicked out.) But this does not warrant the kind of response that it has received. IF you feel that you have been harmed, confront the teacher, confront the dean. Petty, covert actions merely make you look juvenile, and frankly, WEIRD. Get a hobby, buddy.
bravo...that novel just made me miss the "privacy" discussion in crim pro. whoever you are...i am holding you accountable.
you mean the rant on roe v. wade? i suspect it'll be highly relevant to the crim pro final, so you're screwed haley.
"The professors are simply doing their jobs."
Actually... the whole reason this thing got started is because one professor wasn't. Nice little rant, but I think you may have "missed the call of the question."
But for what it's worth I agree with yall that this coyote fella is out in left field.
Actually it got started because students didn't do their jobs.
some didn't, most did.
i hate all of you...stop talking about it. shit happens, everyone one was in error, move on. you're not solving any problems.
