Ms. Fitzwilliam Would Prefer You’d Gone to University of Houston

According to the new law school rankings, Baylor has gone tobogganing down the charts to the 65th potion.

And on that note I must return to class for this afternoon’s session of PC II. I’m sure the professor’s whimsy will remind me why I chose Baylor.

UPDATE:

Here is a reliable source that details the changes.

Incidentally, PC is exactly why the rankings do that.

Rankings are stupid. Who gives a crap at this point anyway. Baylor has a good reputation and that hasn't dropped.

I guarantee you Baylor kids would care about the rankings if they weren't getting the shit kicked out of them therein.

They are stupid. Unless of course, you're an employer..

The rankings may be stupid, but they're how the rest of the public judges us, and that's important. With such a dramatic drop, people will wonder what has happened and assume that it's something catastrophic. The school has not done enough and needs to do more to protect its ranking and the value of our degrees. All of this clinical training isn't going to help if no one wants to hire us...

And no one does hire us. I'm sure you're all familiar with the pain of discussing with a friend who went to UT their course schedule. The soft, fluffy classes you will never get to take. Knowing full well that you absolutely know more, and are more prepared to do anything than them, but that they will get to do more than you. The really depressing thing is even with the fluff they catch up with you in a year or two.

The rankings drop also will mean less qualified people come here, it's a vicious cycle.

We need to have some sort of come-to-Jesus meeting with whoever is in charge. No one wants to step in front and be the face of Baylor to tell any of us why our JD gets harder and harder to pay for, while the value of it goes down, all the while making it near impossible to pay back the money we shell out. It's not the students...we haven't changed. I think the least we deserve is some sort of attempt at an explanation.

The only person who can "be the face of Baylor" is the dean.

What a great face of Baylor that dirty, porn star mustache would be...

So we dropped ten spots and THAT'S going to keep us from jobs? The employers that COME don't want anything to do with the bottom 80% of the students already. If this now means that they want hear the bottom 85% then blow me. The rankings are stupid unless you're on Law Review I guess... but if you're on Law Review then you're not going to have any trouble getting jobs anyway.... so... what's the big deal?
You fags just need something else to complain about. The school is the same, employers the same, the rankings are a stupid political crap shoot.
Employers that know what we go through don't give a crap what we're ranked.

Law review is not a shortcut to jobs, trust me.
